Resumo: Products are essential for society, however represent a large part of the generation of waste and impacts throughout the life cycle, beyond the use of natural resources during the production. Ecodesign acts as a proactive approach to environmental issues in product development in order to minimize environmental impact on the product life cycle without changing the main features and product performance. This paper’s purpose is product improvements identification through the application of a QFD for ecodesign in the development of a critical product in the automobile industry. For this, a systematic bibliographical research was fulfilled for the knowledge of environmental QFDs methods and also selecting one of which has a good applicability and then a practical application in the product development was done. As a result, were identified environmental and operation improvement opportunities in the product as switching materials and transportation improvements.
