Resumo: The objective of this study was to perform a survey of the large areas and areas of knowledge of the research groups with research lines on Quality of Working Life (QWL). For the construction of the QWL research, we searched the databases (Science Direct, Web of Science and Scopus) with the keyword: "quality of work * life", afterwards Methodi Ordinatio was used to evaluate the significant articles to work. For the construction of the base for scientific research and the Directory of Research Groups in Brazil, databases such as Science Direct, Google Scholar and the CAPES website were used. In order to construct the graphs, tables and correlations, data were obtained from the CNPq Research Group Directory (DGP), from 61 research groups with QWL and ScriptLattes research lines from 98 group leaders. The results show that QWL is a multidisciplinary subject, presenting research groups and researchers from several areas of knowledge. In relation to academic production the results show a strong correlation between articles with Qualis A1 and JCR, and that this correlation loses strength as the quality of the Qualis stratum decreases. Thus, given the number of articles published in the period 2017 to 2019, 548 articles, only 70 present JCR, which may denote a deficiency in the quality of articles. As future recommendations can be analyzed the methods of measurement that research groups with QWL research lines registered in the DGP use in their research.
