Resumo: The current Project presents proposal of development of a low cost sensorial equipment that obviates more difficulties than the common traditional canes currently do. The proposition is the creation of a module attachable to any cane already utilized by the visually impaired person that can detect obstacles above the waistline avoiding, this way, wounds and bruises on the upper part of the user’s body. Electronic engineering acquired concepts and knowledge were utilized through the whole developing process, as circuit analysis, computing, control theory, microcontrollers, power conversion, among many others. Besides that, the project approaches topics of high social relevancy, such as inclusion, accessibility and mobility.
