This completion coursework belongs to the assistance technology technical field and comprises an anti-bedsore cushion, the cushion is composed of a sustaining structure, a direct current motor that supplies the driving force, a drive system, a vibration system, an automatic control system, and a protective cover. The purpose of this cushion is to avoid the appearance of decubitus ulcers in persons that spend a lot of their time in a seated position due to illness, disability, or other reasons; it also stimulates blood circulation in the user’s lower limbs. The research’s results was the discovery of the technology level that currently exists in the scientific field. With these data, we managed to develop a groundbreaking technology in this specific study field. The prototype that we developed worked very well and proved itself resistant, as we calculated and designed. In the part called “movement system,” we designed a part called “OX.” In the motor’s control and activation, we designed a printed circuit board - PCB, using a micro-controller that stores and controls the movement and vibration system. The vibration system was one of the novelties present in this undergraduate thesis because no other cushion available in the market presents this function. This undergraduate thesis has a great potential to advance in the researches because there are many improvements that can be developed in the product. Additionally, based on this new technology, we can develop new products and applications. |
