Resumo: Climate change directly affects the supply of water for food production to the world population, generating adaptation demand of the agricultural sector to absorb its adversities, one of the alternatives found to overcome this circumstance is the use of irrigation techniques, which are forms of to supply the water stress caused to plants in drought seasons, especially in crops that require significant amounts of water, such as cocoa, in which Brazil acts as one of the world’s largest almonds producers. The irrigation system indicated for this crop is the fixed drip, which is dimensioned from the parameters of an existing pump, aiming at greater pumping efficiency when considering the curves of equipment performance. When applying concepts of the science that studies the fluids mechanics in an area directed to the cultivation of the cocoa crop, the irrigation system is dimensioned considering the differences of height, losses of load in the pipes, and the aspects of planting of the crop, where when generating hypotheses of the number of sectors that the area must have, options are obtained for selecting the optimum quantity of sectors for greater pumping efficiency of the pump, as well as the sizes of the pipes and numbers of emitters, in which a uniform distribution of water and validation of the reuse of the pump to restore the need for cocoa water, contributing to the global supply of cocoa and the rational use of water resources.
