Resumo: The current scenario encourages the feasibility of energy alternatives to petroleum derivatives, while seeking sustainability in the most diversified areas. Among the environmental problems, is the destination of the polymeric composites widely used in the industry, as an example, the multilayer materials. In this way, the present study evaluated the potential for energy application of the oil generated from polyethylene with reinforcement in aluminum pyrolysis. At first, it was evaluated the composition from infrared spectra (FTIR) of this primary oil in comparison to similar substances, characterizing it as a hydrocarbon of the alkanum type. Subsequently, Thermogravimetric analysis (TG) was performed at a heating rate of 10 K/min, evaluating its thermal vaporization behavior in comparison to commercial hydrocarbons: S10 diesel oil and paraffin, and the biodiesel ester. Based on the thermogravimetric and calorimetric results, it was known that the oil under analysis corresponds to a multiphasic material with potential for the production of fuels and paraffin by fractional distillation.
