In this paper, a study was elaborated on wastes in the assembly line of bodywork in an automotive industry. The objective was, through the observation and analysis of the workstations, to identify the 7 wastes existing in the studied sector. Another focus of the objective is to identify the activities that aggregate and do not add value and through Toyota Production System tools to reduce waste and thus increase the value added to the product. There were 31 actions of gain, the elimination of one workstation and a 3% increase in the value added in one of the lines. Wastes found on other lines were not eliminated because of superior resistance to change certain practices. We conclude that the gain obtained by the study allowed the area to have a reduction in product delivery time, as well as to increase the amount of activities that add value in its process and that the gain acquired by the study may remain depending on the cultural changes of the company. |
