This work aims to study the behavior of transmission towers under action of extreme winds with the help of SAP2000 tool respecting the regulatory standard NBR 6123. It has been observerd, as described in the literature, a number of theses colapses in towers due to wind action, which should be avoided, due to the large damages and costs arising from it. Damage caused by a colapse include losses such as the interruption of electricity supply for thousands of people and replace it with new towers that can cost values in the order of milllions of reais. Theses aspects justify the investigation in this work. In addition, the methodological procedure by which the research was conducted reinforces its relevance. Was used as method for performing this analysis the software simulation in SAP2000. Thus we analyzed the deflections and tensions the tower suffers due to the dynamics stresses caysed by the wind. As a result of this work was obtained information regarding the reliability of the transmission towers, justifying cases of colapse in the literature. |
