Resumo: |
The nature, since many years ago, selects the most able to survive in intense environmental conditions and therefore many biological surfaces developed efficient features as a strategy for survival. The super-hydrophobicity and self-cleaning are one of them and are very recently studied in the field of nanotechnology for the development of commercial products. This work shows an overview of the super hydrophobic and self-cleaning biological surfaces and an analysis of biomimetic materials in development or already commercially available on the market with these properties. As a result, it is shown how influential is the design of the surface texture of the material, which results in a specific roughness for each type of feature desired. |
