Given the various existing forensic methods, we seek to analyze the biuret reagent as a forensic tool that can circumvent the known false positives and negatives of traditional methods. The biuret reagent has a characteristic reaction with a blue to violet color change upon contact with a protein solution, making it a point for easy on-site application. For other application methods, we sought to investigate the application by smearing and spectrophotometric method. In the case of conflicting reaction and tissue staining, the possibility of applying artificial intelligence methods is a way around the problem, given the sensitivity of the computer in color recognition. All the methods studied for application were promising except by artificial intelligence, which is still under development. The results obtained were quite satisfactory, showing the biuret reagent as a great potential for real forensic application. |
