Resumo: The Brazilian pulp industry is one of the industries that gives the most financial return to the country, as it has the lowest production costs in the world. In recent years, these industries have invested in technologies aimed at minimizing the specific consumption of wood for the production of pulp and chemical inputs. The separation and isolation processes of the Kraft lignin obtained are poorly studied, since most of the lignin from industrially obtained liquors is burned for energy recovery and carbon sources in industrial processes. Technological innovation aimed at the pulp and paper industries is becoming increasingly important to facilitate the process of obtaining lignin in a simple and economically viable way. In this context, this work deals with preliminary studies on a possible economically more viable application for lignin from the Kraft process as a potential cosmetic ingredient. Initially the lignin donated by Klabin S/A company was inserted in two different cosmetic products (Cream, and Hydrogel), in order to determine if this lignin presents any alteration in the stability of the products. stability according to the National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA), in which the appropriate lignin products were stored under different conditions. The present work resulted in a great positive result mainly for environment in which the sample received treatment by refrigeration. In this context, lignin has great potential for use by the cosmetic industry as a possible antioxidant and bioactive agent, besides showing compatibility with cosmetic formulas.
