Resumo: A conventional cutting plasma equipment was having problems due to the torch height during the cutting process, from the imperfections of the plates, causing wear consumables thus decreasing the useful life and causing constant breaking of the torch. This paper presents a project that has improved the cutting plasma conventional, by implanting a device to correct torch height during the cutting process. By creating improvements in an existing process using the Arduino Microcontroller system to adapt the necessary changes and tests that need to be made to the operation of the equipment. Due to factors that contribute to losses in the cutting process, and defects found on the plates to produce the cuts, felt the need to seek improvements and reduce faults and defects in the final product, and enhance the cutting process, and seeking better results avoiding major losses of raw materials in production. We attempted to acquire and apply knowledge in relation to cutting and programs used to obtain the result of improvement in the plasma cutting, correcting imperfections in resultadas process.
