Resumo: The present article aims to discuss the concept of hybridism and miscegenation through the poetic production of the Cuban artist Ana Mendieta (1948-1985), in particular the actions performed in specific environments between the years of 1970 to 1980, during which she produced intensely with the artists members or visitors to the Multimedia Arts Program at the University of Iowa, founded by artist Hans Breder as a center of production, experimentation and discussion of perfomance art. Still, the research aims to highlight the intense relationships that are established on specific spaces, composing a ritualistic and performatic body, central element of his poetics. Such actions and their records in films and photographs, affirm an expanded, multiple and at the same time private and intimate body, a body "betweenplaces" and the possible transits between performance art, photography and other languages.
