Resumo: The present research intents to analyze how Gertrude Stein’s dramaturgical concept of landscape play relates itself to Murray Schafer’s concept of soundscape. Reviewing Stein’s ideas about theatre and the characteristics of her texts it was possible to verify the importance that the author gives to the sonority of the words for the building of sonic ambiences by verbal enunciation. It was also possible to verify a frequent approach between Stein’s text and the aspect of noise, pointing the possibility of the reception of her plays through a hedonism of the sound deposed of any semantic meaning.
