Resumo: The permanence of an industry in the market is directly linked to the efficiency and effectiveness of their production. To ensure these requirements several strategies are adopted, among them the automation of the production line. This solution generally ensures an increase in productivity. But to ensure production quality, inspection systems are often required, among which the vision systems, addressed by this work. The inclusion of support processes in an automated manufacturing system demands good integration to ensure all the benefits of automation. Then it is necessary to use an industrial network compatible with the installed equipment and the applied process. This work presents the study and development of the integration of a vision system with an industrial control found in the FMS laboratory at UTFPR. At first moment it will be presented the basic concepts underlying the principles and operation of the equipment used. Later two methods of communication between the systems are proposed: communication through OPC and communication through digital signal. To evaluate the performance of the solutions an experimental method is applied. Finally it is carried out an evaluation of the integration of the systems based on the results, advantages and disadvantages encountered during installation, programming and operation of each communication method.
