This work discuss about the characteristics of the network infrastructure necessary to transport convergent services. It presents a case of the VOIP implantation project in a governmental institution. There were several problems and restrictions in the former network infrastructure and a new project was proposed. It was proposed a new topology and new switches with parameters that are necessary for the actuals convergent technologies. Concepts of the hierarchical topology, quality of services, characteristics of the switches, security, and virtual networks are discussed in order to exploreall necessity of the convergent networks infrastructure. |
