The present monograph approaches the study of a pilot project established in the Parana’s State Police Department through a model of remote access to the services offered in the police stations unit’s networks. The application access services were usually offered in the local internal networks. The model has been adopted to find the best solution of access, considering that the structure doesn’t cover all the police organization as one, but only the unit located in the city of Marechal Cândido Rondon, State of Paraná. This model involves the installation of a link in the local network, and, in this connection, configuring a Virtual Private Network (VPN) server. Afterwards, it implicates in the use of a netbook with 3G mobile phone network access in one of the police vehicles and by that, accomplishing the connection with the internal systems. Even with the deficiencies in the 3G connection, the system is in use and with expansion perspectives as the 3G connection quality improves. |
