Resumo: The research has as main objective the proposal of a project to revitalize the stretch of the Belém River, using techniques of wetlands built in urban rivers and local landscape valorization. This type of wet system has been used to recover water from rivers and also from rainwater before being created in the water body. The Belém River has a source and a mouth within the limits of the municipality of Curitiba, and during its course, received the different forms of pollution, such as the release of clandestine sewage, solid waste, as well as diffuse pollution. This study seeks a possibility of recovery of the landscape, enhancing the environment,-al services of a certain part of the urban river, recovering the quality of the environment and the life of the citizens. For the development of the work were included bibliographical citations of a report of visits, visits and photographic records of the chosen section, as well as an analysis of two projects that applied the wetlands for the recovery of water body quality, being one in Southern Córeia and the other in the Philippines. The section chosen for a wetland application proposal is located in the Boqueirão neighborhood, the final region of the river where it flows into the Iguaçu River. As selected techniques for study, are bioengineering solutions, developed by two international companies.
