The search for ideal wellbeing conditions for the user within a building requires not only the knowledge of the programs and activities to be developed within the space but most importantly, the understanding of the interaction of a complex group of factors. According to González (2004, p.232) they could be grouped in geographic, climatologic, personal and internal space parameters. The research focuses on the study of these with emphasis in the first two groups, seeking to quantify, within a short space interval (utilised as proposed reference) the phenomenon known as heat island within the central region of Curitiba indicating its impact in the definition of strategies to be applied at the conceptual phase of architectural projects. Monitoring devices to collect microclimatic data fields were installed in two different locations in the neighbourhoods of São Francisco and Água Verde which were set up aiming to provide the necessary data to the construction of bioclimatic diagrams for each of the two sites. From the comparison between these diagrams to the ones constructed using the data from official meteorology institutes, a variation in temperature capable of influencing the adoption of recommended bioclimatic strategies. For exemple, the time of permanency within the defined comfort zone which increases considerably. |
