Resumo: Part of electric energy consumption in big companies is related to the large use of artificial lighting resources, that is, oversized lighting system and equipment that generate high energy and maintenance costs. In contrast for this scenario, the development of practices that minimize energy consumption in these buildings and the launch of new LED lighting systems that reduce consumption, offer advantageous options when re-fitting the space. In addition, the importance of a lighting design also generates a reduction in consumption and more comfort and well-being to the user of the company. This paper presents a case study carried out in a large commercial company already consolidated, analyzing the artificial lighting system, identifying the occurrence of the problem in question and enabling a retrofit, in order to make the building more energy efficient and consequently minimize consumption with lighting.
