Resumo: The water shortage is a huge obstacle in all the planet, due to many conjoint actors as the waste of water, the climate, the pollution and the disordered consumption use of the hidric resources. Under these circumstances, usual mechanisms are considered or the introduction of new ways of exploring the alternatives sources, as for example, the rain water, which is considered a viable alternative to reduce the use and waste of drinkable water. In this context, this thesis has the purpose of estimating the non potable water of a vertical residential condominium in fase of construction, localized in Curitiba-Brasil, and evaluate the water supply of the water reservatories of reuse and retention projected to attend the legal obligations of the City Hall. The study was started by collecting all the information of the approved projects that mention the volume and dimension for the water reservatories of reuse and accumulation. After the data collection, it was calculated the water supply and its use of non-potable water of the condominium, trough estimated parameters that helps defining the possible uses of non-potable water for reuse that was stored. It was defined that the nonpotable stored water will be used in flushing cisterns of the apartments, common areas, floor and car cleaning, garden irrigation and swimming pool maintenance. With all the necessities defined, other dimensioning methods were tried in due of compare and analyze the water tanks with the volume of 70,00 m3 for reuse and 103,00 m3 for Rainwater accumulation. With the monthly necessities estimated in 897,45 m3 for non-potable water uses of the condominium, it was verified a possibility of reduction of drinkable water while using the stored rainwater. With a projected volume of 70,00 m3 it is possible to supply 8 % of total needs of water of the condominium, or predict an estimated value of 8% of replacement of drinkable water for Rainwater. By adding the volume of the storing tank, the total sum will be of 173,00 m3 of stored water, that can enable 19% elimination, or elevate in 19% the reduction of drinkable water for less noble purposes.
