Resumo: Architecture should provide suitable environmental conditions for the development of human activities in indoor and outdoor spaces. Bioclimatic architecture offers alternatives to new buildings, which are more adequate to local climate conditions, through new technologies or taking into account technical procedures from traditional architecture. The objective of this study was to evaluate the thermal performance of historic dwellings in Curitiba/PR. Four different tools were used for the thermal performance analysis of residential buildings, which together integrate a toolkit with the most significant strategies to be verified in the case studies. For the selection of the dwellings, dwellings were chosen, which had been built by Italian immigrants in the late nineteenth to the early twentieth century. Results attest to a high level of thermal performance and climatic adequacy of the historic buildings.
