The exportation of agricultural grains, which moves tons through the country, significantly contributes to engender high risks related to Labor Safety, since all industries whose operations have as secondary results the formation of powdery material with combustible properties have a high potential risk concerning fire and explosions. Due to the mentioned risks, this study had as its aim to identify and to analyze the measures to prevent and fight fires taken by a granary complex located in the south of Brazil and compare them to the mesures to prevent and fight fire required by Fire and Panic Safety Code of the Fire Department of the State of Parana. To do so, technical visits were made to the facilities using a check-list for verifying all the measures required by the Code, which ones were identified after the study of the technical rules concerning this case. Once the visits were concluded, we realized that the most part of measures were not fulfilled, because there were any Safety System or because the parameters established were not granted. Therefore, the system of fire protection of this granary sector presents nonconformities which must be urgently solved for the safety of the people working and circulating in that region, and for the economic value that it represents to the country as well. |
