Resumo: The aim of this study was analyze the noise levels for acoustic comfort and lighting in a university library and propose some solutions in the event of non-compliance. The environment was a university library divided into three floors. For each floor noise and luminance samples were collected according to the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT) through the NBR 10151 and NBR 5382 respectively. Data were tabulated and generated graphs for each floor of the library. The data were evaluated based on the policy of the regulation No 17 of the “Ministério do Trabalho e Emprego” and the NBR 10152 for acoustic comfort and NBR 5413 for lighting. For acoustic comfort, the results were mostly inadequate, where the areas that had the highest rates were the reading room of the outdoor area and the library entrance. Regarding the lighting, the results were also inefficient, since virtually all the points analyzed proved inadequate, stood out the grounds between the bookshelves, where the results were more harmful. From these analyzes were made suggestions for adequacy of these environments.
