The objective of this work is to verify safety and environment planning requirements
based on the item 18.4 of NR-18 for construction works in two planning plants of civil
construction in progress, performed by a small and large building companies operating
in Curitiba, Paraná State. The construction industry has a high potential risk concerning
occupational accident. The risks in civil construction vary within a range that has to be
analyzed in a dynamic point of view. In Brazil, the rules for safety and environment for
civil construction are published in the law NR-18, entitled "conditions and environment
of the construction industry work." This norm deals with the rules for prevention of
accidents in the construction industry. To achieve the objectives of this, work a
research methodology that focuses on the NR-18 was performed. This implies to check
the relevant and existing items of NR 18 and classify them according the scoring
criteria 0-1 (nonconforming / conforming) established in this work. As a result, it was
observed that the small company has obtained an average score of only 34%
compliance, while large company reached 88%. The large company was considered
more prepared concerning the health, safety and environment planning requirements
for construction works. |
