Resumo: Considering the national scene, we observe that the building industry has achieved significant commitment to the progress and growth for our country. Noting that in recent years there has been a massive support from local governments, state and federal, subsidizing residential housing for the population of the middle class and low income. The purpose of this work is to identify through statistical analysis, collected from the MTE website - Ministry of Labour and Employment, which depicts the subject of labor accidents with machinery and equipment in the years from 2011 to 2013, comparing the results to the three consecutive years. The collection of information stood out the three machines and equipment that generate more accidents, circular bench saw, equipment / tools and manual circular saw, in this reporting period. At the same time, visited by three construction sites in the MRC - the metropolitan region of Curitiba and the state capital, where he was made a photographic record of these machines and equipment in use, highlighting their deficiencies and proposing security measures work. Data analysis concluded that in the construction industry and in particular in the construction of buildings, machinery and equipment 25 analyzed in this sector, three machines and equipment accounted for 53% of cases of occupational accidents. And to control these risks is necessary to carry out preventive work, both in training and awareness of their operators as predictive maintenance on these machines and equipment that can reduce and / or control such accidents.
