Resumo: The study in question refers to concepts of accessibility, emphasizes the scenario experienced by our society by stressing the importance of accessibility in social inclusion. The accessibility, described in general lines, presents a major challenge for cultural and social changes that is the challenge faced daily by people with special needs. The proposal comes hand in hand with the necessity of accessibility and social inclusion. The Metro System in Brasilia was defined as the subject of study for this work with the objective of performing an accessibility study within the facilities and equipment making references before the NBR 14021. The details of the Metro history outline a comprehensive idea of the whole process and the way in how the main public transportation system came to existence. For the purpose of this study, it was developed a summarized and objective survey to understand the perception of the user about the quality of the transportation system. Having this data distributed, the measurement of the field was made for each item of the NBR 14021 as well as the photographic report for later analysis and detailing of the field work. It was observed that the perception of the user, is not always showing the reality of the premises, in many cases due to ignoring or even for the absence of technical and more demanding vision to describe the scenario. The measurement of the field presented endless failures and inconsistencies and lack of standards in some of the studied items, however in other areas it showed high standard precision close to the normative. With the development of the city, it is possible to understand that the premises developed in the last years did not grew along with the population. There are still endless failures that need to be worked on in a sequential and continuous way to improve the system, and with it, provide every time much more social inclusion and above all, security to the population that depends of the public transportation system on a daily basis.
