Resumo: The topic under study in this paper came from a contemporary concern: the conformity of electrical equipment and installations and the NR-10 and its correlation with job security services involving electricity. Since the entry into force of the new NR-10, in 2004, much has been discussed about this issue, given concerns about the still high number of accidents, many involving panels of medium and low voltage. The objective of this work is to foster this discussion, since for many companies, the focus is on safety procedures and protective measures adopted. They go by many errors project design, which tend to propagate until the beginning of the operation of electrical equipment, causing failures that can cause accidents. Besides presenting an overview of the main standards that guide services in low-voltage electricity, realized the importance of covering the issue of certification to other standards correlated, due to the fact many manufacturers and contractors, forgo these certifications, according to the criteria of economy, it is alleged by a high cost to meet the standard requirements for certification. The core of this work is a case study of the occurrence of an accident with an industrial panel low voltage. Addressed the applicability of management tools for the investigation of this accident and identifying deviations in the project. The results were: the identification of nonconformities existing design, as well as failures in risk management that caused the accident, and suggested corrective actions in the work itself, concluding on the importance of technical standards are followed and safety requirements applicable to such equipment.
