Resumo: Currently, new technologies for the treatment of atmospherical emissions have been deployed. In a pioneering way, the owner of a steak house, in central Curitiba, installed a biological system, developed by researchers of the Technology Institute of Paraná (TECPAR), in order to eliminate the odors of smoke resulting from burn of coal. The adoption of new technology use to imply on risks analysis. This study aimed to investigate risks related to occupational safety of the operators this system. It were rolled the risks and proposed ways to minimize them. Field investigations were made analyzing the conditions of the environment work, interviews to operators, and contraposition to the Regulatory Standards. The study showed a clean, organized and composed of equipment in good working condition. The main identified risks relate to access the system, performed by ladder with handrails and ramps lacking. Problems with lifting, transport and removal of loads, hazardous to health, were also found. Moreover, the system is totally devoid of signaling, it has only one fire extinguisher to suit desktop and operators are exposed to sun, rain and wind. Noise measurements were made in some parts of the site, but all of them were below the established tolerance limits. Overall, it appears that was performed to identify the risks to both the job security of operators about the potential risks in the workplace, such risks were listed and measures to minimize them have been suggested.
