This paper proposes to demonstrate, through dielectric tests, whether EPI's and EPC's safety equipment available for commercialization meet the requirements of the technical standards. Equipment from random manufacturers was chosen and the tests performed comply with the regulations described in items 10.6 and 10.7 of theNR10.Several equipment were rejected, they were submitted to the specified limits and did not support the applied voltage intensity, thus showing a discrepancy between the specified data and the results obtained, due to nonconformity with the standard, causing risk to the users workers. Among the laboratories visited and the items analyzed, one of them omitted in the report the tension applied to the safety footwear, so it was not possible to know if the footwear can actually be used in the field. In this way, it was possible to conclude that the acquisition of low cost equipment can lead to safety problems exposing to moderate to high risk of mortality. In addition to the quality of the equipment, the suppression of data in tests carried out in laboratories, releasing products that do not meet the minimum requirements for safe operation, can also be equally harmful, putting at risk the physical integrity of the workers. |
