Resumo: Currently, much of the electricity produced in Brazil is through hydroelectric plants, because the existing large watersheds. However, the exploitation of hydropower potential in the country has been exhausted The lack of rain, the water waste and the growing process of urbanization has increased water consumption, affecting the levels of hydroelectric plant reservoirs and, thereafter, in the generation of electricity from this source. Thus, Brazil begin to become favorable to energy production by other sources of renewable energy, such as through on-grid PV systems. This study aims to develop a viability diagnosis process for on-grid PV systems deployment in the state of Paraná. To develop this work, it was made a literature review about concepts of solar energy, photovoltaic effect, photovoltaic systems connected to the network, power generation, normative resolutions and average annual total productivity values in municipalities of Paraná state’s. Based on these data it was possible to develop a methodology for feasibility diagnosis of on-grid PV systems implementation in the state. The methodology validation process was performed using real cases already implemented, whose final result was the creation of a computational tool with the application of this methodology, and that proved to be useful and innovative, as it enables any consumer check how viable will be the introduction of a on-grid PV systems in a predetermined location in Paraná.
