The paper addresses the importance of a belt conveyor in the raw material handling process of a steel mill. It underscores the contribution of the belt to conveyor reliability, impacts in the event of a failure, and the maintenance costs involved. It addresses the lack of a cohesive technical analysis method for the maintenance of this component. It seeks to develop a probability-based reliability engineering model to support maintenance management. A model is developed using the life data analysis tool, the data history, its analysis and analysis. Shows the results, the complexities, the limitations and their results.
