Resumo: ArcelorMittal Tubarão is a steel company, in the flat steel segment, has a sequenced production, with three large areas, Ironmaking, Steel works and Hot Strip Mill, which produce pig iron, steel plate and steel coil, respectively, then the whole process. It has its beginning in the Ironmaking area, which in turn has three macro divisions, Sintering, Coke Plant and Blast Furnaces, which produce Sinter, Coke and pig iron respectively. The Sintering area has two main functions, producing Sinter and feeding the Blast Furnaces with raw material. This steel production process is continuous and interrupted, if one of these areas stops, the entire production process may stop, depending on the duration of this event, so stop control is strategic within this process. The longest downtimes are usually preventative to maintain equipment and restore reliability so that they operate 24 hours until your next campaign. One of the biggest challenges of maintaining sintering is to achieve the availability of its assets, keeping the cost within the base budget, with predetermined human resources, without accidents and without environmental impacts in order to ensure plant stability and consequently the process. In order to increase the reliability of the Sintering area, one of its Stacker Reclaimer - 3 (SR-3) equipment was selected to perform an analysis of its availability and to identify the main failure modes. In this work it was found that the mode of failure that had the greatest unavailability was the Engine Failure of the Translation Truck, it would be interesting to make a root failure analysis (RCA) to find the root cause(s).
