Resumo: The contamination of lubricating oil is directly related to the often lubrication failures in mechanical systems that lead to production interruptions. Quantify the lubrication reliability growth in gearbox after engineering measures through equipment shielding system was the objective of this article. Based on the failure database of acceptable lubricant standards through the reports of the equipment oil analysis, it was possible to generate the curves of the probability density function (pdf) and reliability (R(t)) for different periods with Weibull ++ software. It was observed that the installation of these measures in gearboxes contributes to the reliability growth of the lubricating oil in preserving the acceptable standards of operation for longer when compared to previous periods before shielding.
