Resumo: The importance of the methods used in the engineering of the reliability for the improvement of processes and products is a reality proven by several industries today, being a differential in the industries that implement it in relation to the others. This work proposes the application of life data analysis to verify the estimated time of degradation of electric brushes used in conveyors in the automotive industry, currently the replacement is carried out through periodic inspections and this procedure implies in the equipment stoppage. In order to generate the data necessary for the analysis, the wear values of thirty brushes were measured and collected weekly in a period of six weeks and the results obtained demonstrate the efficiency of the method used, the brushes presented a durability of at least twice the time in which is currently estimated.
