Resumo: This final paper proposes the study of 4 different methodologies (Nowlan and Heap, Smith and Hinchcliffe, Moubray and SAE JA1011/JA1012) for the implementation of a maintenance system focused on reliability in the field of polymer injection. In general, polymer injection failures represent considerable production stops as well as the loss of raw material due to equipment shutdown. In addition, because it is usually the initial manufacturing process in a plastics company, stops in this area can cause interruptions throughout the production process causing large financial losses. The study will be made by presenting existing RCM implementation methodologies and propose to the application of the methodology that best fits for application in polymer injection. The choice of methodology depends not only on technical issues, but also on the management of the company. In this respect SAE JA1011 and SAE JA1012 have their stages defined in order to describe the necessary technical activities and also the management tasks associated with the implementation of a reliability-based maintenance program.
