This paper aims to present the applicability of a traceability solution in the production chain of a metalworking industry in order to ensure the quality of the products manufactured throughout the production chain, as well as achieving the information related to the products and manufacturing processes, often needed for fast decision making and to meet a current market requirement. An exploratory research with a qualitative approach in certain areas of a metalworking company located in Jaraguá do Sul, as well as researches, studies, reports, articles and professional experience of the author was used for this work. Performed researches provided the main needs that the customers of this market are demanding, mainly in certain market segments such as the Nuclear, Electric Vehicle Traction and Lift Traction, since they are the final applications that generate direct risk to people. These researches enabled to detect the types of traceability and the composition of a solution, the main identification technologies used in the market and the advantages and disadvantages in the adoption and implementation of a traceability solution. The commitment of all hierarchical levels of the company and a welldefined scope is very important for the success in the implantation of this type of solution. New supplementary works to this are required to answer some questions that could not be so detailed in this paper. |
