Resumo: This study shows a model of viable evaluation, considering economical features, to select the products and workstations that will be part of a program to define the process times based on the MTM methodology. It also addresses the advantages and disadvantages of using predeter-mined times in a machine area, organized by functional layout that shows high types of products variability, not constant production batches, and new model of machined products on his portfolio every day. This model also considers the life cycle of product - machined components - and their representativeness at the final product cost – three-phase induction electric motor.This work study offers an applicability evaluation of MTM as a tool to help reducing production costs and increase the accuracy of the process time, result of a quantitative applied search based on historical data available in a chosen area to do the study case. As a result of this job was provided to managers and process analyst’s one tool that supports their decisions, know the technical and human limitations, aiming a better optimization of available resources in a process evaluation system. The application of this model made it possible the selection of family of products that represents 90% of the productive demand and one increase on the accurate times that are used for calculating the manufacture components` costs.
