Resumo: The need of the companies to become more competitive and productive resulted in the introduction of a number of programs and initiatives aiming better quality and productivity results. The 5S program is one of these tools, which helps companies to seek better results from simple concepts and techniques, but so that the organization can achieve the results and benefits proposed by the tool, discipline and dedication of all within the company are required. This study aims to evaluate and identify the main difficulties for the implementation and mainly for the maintenance of this program in a large company. Based on the difficult identified in the 5S Program, was proposed changes in the current methodology, focusing on the quantification of gains that this program can generate for the organization. The study was based on a pilot project, applied in a large company, whose results evidenced financial gains from the application of the 5S program in a small manufacturing area.
