Resumo: In reading the works Nihonjin and Corações Sujos, it is observed that they have a chapter with the same theme; however, diverge in their narrative construction which gives the reader a different understanding. The present research sought to analyze the novel Nihonjin, by Oscar Nakasato, published in 2011, from the concept of historical novel described by Gyorg Lukács (2011). For Lukács the important thing for the historical novel is to bring to the literature the essence of the existence of the historical characters, to be able to evidence the historical reality, through the fictional characters. In the novel Corações Sujos, by Fernando Morais, published in 2000; sought to analyze from the concept of nonfiction novel described by Rildo Cosson (2001). For Cosson, the mark of the nonfiction novel is the factual truths, a narrative constructed from evidences of a truly occurring reality, forming a web of facticity, but differentiating itself from the "common" reporting, for relying not only on veracity and intersection of facts, but fundamentally in mimesis and verisimilitude. In the analysis is contemplated how each aspect is presented in the works, with the objective of presenting how each one of these elements favor the distinction of the understanding of the same event in each work. Nihonjin (2011) presents more flexible and humanized aspect, Corações Sujos (2000) more inflexible and stereotyped aspect in relation to the conflict with Shindo Renmei. The method used was a descriptive bibliographic search.
