This research seeks to carry out a study of the neologisms in the short story "O Burrinho Pedrês", inserted in the book "Sagarana" by writer João Guimarães Rosa. The work discusses the Guimarães Rosa’s work, with a historical and biographical look. As an introduction are analyzed, concepts about linguistics as a field of knowledge, their typologies and the neologisms used. Investigating the presence and occurrence of neologisms, their use by the speakers in the short story, shows the importance for understanding the process of lexical competence. The aim of this work is to find and present the neological lexical units in the tale, so that they can later be adapted to the development of lexical competence. A priori, in the first chapter, it deals with the author's brief biography (life, works and influences). In the following chapters, the literary style of the work is mentioned, followed by the summaries of the work Sagarana and the short story "The Little Donkey Pedrês". It finishes with the study of the variations of speech presented in the work and the language in the short story "The Burrito Pedrês"; the neologisms and regionalisms present in the text. From the analysis of the localized neologisms, it is verified how these new lexical models are an important part in the task of an effective teaching of the lexicon and how the contributions of the Guimarães Rosa’s work internalize the lexical competence of the speaker who researches and knows his writing. |
