When we consider the importance of Realism as a movement that was able to change a discursive structure, we carried out the stylistic study of Machado de Assis's short story "The mass of the cock", in order to present elements and arguments of the ethos and make explicit implicit mechanisms for structuring and interpreting the text. One observes in the story an evolving and invisible ethos, parallel to what happens, there is always what seems to be happening, the co-enunciator does more than decipher contents: he participates in the world configured by enunciation, which ethos is linked. Even better in the third chapter, we are based on studies by Maingueneau, (2006) and we seek to know the principles of organization. This investigation led us to the sensitive experience of discourse: the "arguments", defined by three elements correspond to the logos, the "passions" to the pathos, the "conducts" to the ethos. |
