Resumo: The objective of this research is to analyze the interference mother language (Portuguese) has on writing texts in foreign language (English) by students from language centers, in order to identify if this interference can affect the final intelligibility of the text. The author doesn’t intend to analyze grammatical or lexical issues, but the written text as all to verify and understand which are the recurrent interferences on the texts generated by the mother tongue that affect and influence the comprehension of the ideas expressed by the students in the foreign language in study. Hence, some theories about oral and written language acquisition were taken into account (Chomski,2005; Odlin, 1989, Doughty and Long, 2011), second language acquisition and learning (Doughty and Long, 2011; Vigotski, 2001) served to analyze a corpus constituted by twenty two compositions from students of different levels of English from a Language center in Curitiba. On this way, it is hoped, through this research, go forward as the learning development as the written production in foreign language issues.
