The construction market boom and strong competition have resulted in many companies seeking production modernization and rationalization, which has led to increased precast concrete structures demand. This work aims for mapping the precast structures cost estimation process in a large company in that sector and identify improvement opportunities in the process. Also introduces the concepts of quality, precast concrete, cost estimation and process. Accomplished through the application of the firsts steps of the process redesign methodology used at Hospital de Clínicas of Unicamp uses participant observation and interviews techniques. Brings as results the current cost estimation process map with disjoints survey and a suggestion of improved process. Mapping the cost estimation process allowed those involved to have a global vision of the process and relationships between activities and facilitated the identification of disconnections opportunities for process improvement. |
