Resumo: Due to the strong technical characteristic of the Construction Industry sector, people end up learning only in practice, and through the day by day of the profession, to deal with people and manage conflicts. In this context, human relationship becomes one of the main challenges to be faced by the managers. In this respect, the objective of this paper work is to inspect the levels of motivation, leadership and communication in Construction Industry's people managers. For this purpose, based in a deep literature search, a questionnaire was developed and applied. The consulted managers could think about subjects concerning their own behavior and make a self-evaluation. Thereafter, two analysis were made: the results were evaluated in a general way and also establishing relations between the different groups of professionals. It was easy to note that communication is the strongest skill, followed by motivation and, finally, leadership. However, in managers with more than 20 years of experience, motivation is the skill that stands out. There weren't distinction between engineers and architects, due to their academic degree, since both had balanced results. The statements presented in the questionnaire represents simple and effective attitudes that can be seen as suggestions and incorporated to promote improvements in the work environment and in the relationship between employees.
