This work presents a cost comparison between cast-in-place and precast reinforced concrete structures for a 573.70 m² mixed use building, located in the urban area of a city in the west region of Paraná state. This comparison is based on the preliminary project – not on the basicproject – with the purpose of assisting in the process of choosing which construction method will be employed in the final project, based on construction price. Initially, quotations received from three different companies specialized in precast structures are presented and analyzed. Then, for the cast-in-place structure, a cost estimation is presented, which constitutes the first basis of comparison. Subsequently, the precast structure quotations are equalized, balancing the disparity of the services offered by each company; the average of these values is adopted as a representation of the market value for this service, and constitutes the second basis of comparison. Finally, it is concluded that the price for the cast-in-place structure for the aforementioned building is 20.07% lower than the market values practiced for the precast structure. |
