The Itaipu Hydroelectric Power Plant is 32 full years of operation. Their levels of availability and power generation are quite high, reflecting the quality of maintenance performed on their equipment. However, obsolescence and lack of spare parts on the market are becoming every day a more difficult problem to manage. The need for modernization of equipment is evident and there is no way to continue keeping the good currently existing indexes without the equipment in proper condition. Concerned with this situation, Itaipu is preparing for the technological upgrade of its plant. The objective of this work is to study how the project management tools can be used in the modernization of electromechanical equipments. |
