The alignment of the internal processes of an industry is a determining factor for the products launched to meet the needs of customers and become successful in the market. Furniture manufacturing is recognized as one of the main sectors of traditional industry. Its production generates demand for several segments involved in its productive chain, which includes companies responsible for the production of wood sheets through the final manufacture of the furniture. The variety of companies specializing in this field is large, especially in the wooden furniture which represent the largest share of sales in the market. This work presents an overview about the furniture industry and the processes used during the development of new products by the wood furniture factories. The ultimate goal is to develop a guide with basic and useful guidelines for the production of wooden furniture within the industry, helping the project manager to perform the basic activities related to the product design, with excellence. |
