Resumo: The Internet-of-Things scenario has evolved exponentially over the last few years, although it emerged in the 1990s. The possibilities for developing products that use this type of technology are quite broad and the potential of creating new business models has been shown to be very interesting. However, between the barriers found, are the bureaucratic ones and the lack of standardization of the systems of communication of devices. Added to these factors, there are several uncertainties as to the adherence of new products and services based on the internet of things. Also, traditional product development processes have been proven to be ineffective to meet such demands. This work presents a set of guidelines to improve the process of product development on this context. The propositions are derived from the exam of guidelines listed in the field of emerging companies (startups) coupled with lean approach (Lean) and considering the user experience. In order to describe how to apply the proposals, a descriptive application was made, using as reference a case study obtained in theoretical reference. Finally, it was concluded that the listed propositions are aligned with the current needs of IoT product development management and it shows the importance of exploring this topic and evaluating possible improvements applied to further case studies of products and services based on internet-of-things.
