Resumo: This research seeks to understand how network administration and maintenance of peripherals works in the Regional Office of the State Revenue of Paraná, Cascavel - PR. Given the need of greater understanding of the current way of managing networks and peripherals inside the State Revenue of Paraná, we tried to accomplish the study raising questions about the role of network’s administrator in maximizing the network utilization and maintenance of peripheral station in the State Revenue of Paraná, Cascavel. As methodology, was established a field research, descriptive, exploratory, survey type, with cohort study, without considering the evolution of data over time. A questionnaire consisting of 37 questions, with 34 closed questions and 3 opened questions were used as primary sources. For the secondary data, documents from the State Revenue of Paraná, Celepar, books, magazines and internet websites were used. The main results found were that the current model employed is hindering the maximization of equipment, networks and peripherals by users. One realizes that it is necessary for more intensive and specific training to meet the current and future needs in the regional office of the State Revenue of Paraná (head office), in Cascavel and Toledo agencies. A proper training was recommended in order to accomplish a better domination of the systems currently in use and the implementation of a new network manager inside the regional office, of the state revenue’s own staff or a full-time Celepar alternative worker, managed by a Tax inspector of the State Revenue.
